A Second Chance? : Are the jobs coming back?

The world as you know it has changed. For people who don't recognize that fact, it will be worse of times. For people who do, it will be the best of times. -  Eric Worre.

A lot of folks are still left behind in the industrial age. The world today moved long ago. Lack of preparation to leverage on the information age has left a lot of casualties. Most people became obsolete and no longer able to fit in... They have been replaced!

The new economy needs fewer people.. The exponential rise in technology has changed everything. Over 100 years ago, 90% of the population worked in agriculture. Today, because of dramatic efficiencies, it's lesser than 1%, and farming jobs are gone.

Remember customer service call centers where you talked to people? Today, you talk to a machine and those jobs are gone. Organization still on the old system are developing their back ends..  Remember when companies had massive amounts of sales people? Well, now people order online and most sales jobs are gone. The movie industry is not left out.. People now watch blockbusters on their hand held device or tablet devices and those jobs are gone. You must have discovered that bookshops are phasing out,  so will the job provided by those stores.

Technology and efficiency are eliminating jobs every single day, and there's nothing we can do to stop it. In fact, it's only going to accelerate. If you are sitting there waiting for the economy to bounce back and for jobs to return, don't. They aren't coming back. If they do, it's going to be in new form... To survive the new phase, open your eyes to see opportunities. See the reality and find something new.

I attended a tech conference where participants were asked to talk about their start ups. What I heard should scare you. The next invention might throw you off balance.
The last 100 years, witnessed the love for employment. Everyone wants to work for a corporation. In our opinion, it was a safe and respected place to be - becoming an employee was mission accomplished! The school kept telling us to graduate with great results so we can get job placements. Today, students are taking entrepreneurial routes... and employees are coming out of their hiding to declare intentions for additional income.
The government too is encouraging her citizens to search inwards.....

Yes times have changed and some have become victims.
Our world is moving towards a performance economy. In the future, you are only going to be paid for performance. You won't be paid anymore for your time. If you can imagine the reward model being applied to virtually every job in the world, you will see what is coming. Unless you are extremely specialized, this will happen to you if it hasn't already. Count on it. And it will happen in every single profession worldwide. The evolution has begun.

Why is this happening in your life time? One it's a better model for companies. They will get better results with less expenses. Two,  the new economy needs fewer people. So the company has more people competing for fewer and fewer jobs. Three, the new economy needs creative minds. It absorbs those with disruptive ideas... Like Steve Jobs will say '' idea rules the world ''

I think it's time to reflect inwards. Think about what you can do. How you can leverage on emerging opportunities and niche..

It's time to :

Embrace Creativity.

Embrace Entrepreneurship.

Embrace Network Marketing .

Embrace the business of the 21st century.
